Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to align works under the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) scheme with the objectives of Swarna Andhra Vision-2047, emphasising the need for a focused action plan to implement development initiatives at the grassroots level. Reviewing the scheme at his chamber on the Legislative Assembly premises on Thursday, Mr. Naidu instructed the District Collectors to closely monitor its execution and ensure effective coordination. He said the scheme, which was set to be implemented from the next financial year, should be integrated with various rural development works at the village level. Mr. Naidu also ordered officials to complete all pending works under the rural employment guarantee programme during the current financial year. Briefing the Chief Minister, the officials said that during the 2025–26 financial year, ₹4,619 crore was spent under the wage component and ₹1,962 crore under the material component. They noted that Andhra Pradesh ranked first in the country in expenditure under the material component category. Describing the VB-G RAM G scheme as demand-driven, the Chief Minister directed authorities to prepare plans that catered to the specific developmental needs of the State. He highlighted the scope for taking up solar power systems in rural areas, strengthening basic infrastructure, carrying out repairs under the Jal Jeevan Mission, constructing rural libraries and other public buildings, developing transport sheds and parking areas, and improving community assets. He further stated that the scheme could be leveraged to enhance water security, build critical rural infrastructure, improve living standards, and undertake works aimed at mitigating the impact of natural disasters. The Chief Minister underscored that effective implementation of the scheme would play a vital role in advancing the State’s long-term development vision and ensuring sustainable growth across rural Andhra Pradesh.
