For the convenience of metro commuters travelling to Kempegowda International Airport, BMTC Vayuvajra (airport) bus stops have been provided at all metro stations along the route, allowing passengers to directly board or alight airport buses at metro stations.

The initiative has been implemented by the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (BMRCL) and the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), in coordination with the Bengaluru Traffic Police, as part of efforts to improve last-mile connectivity for Namma Metro users.

Earlier, airport buses stopped only at designated BMTC bus stops, many of which were located far from metro stations. This caused inconvenience to airport-bound commuters, especially those carrying luggage, a BMTC official said.

In addition to airport bus access, several new BMTC bus stops have been introduced close to metro stations on the Purple Line (Whitefield–Challaghatta) and the Green Line (Madavara–Silk Institute), with effect from February 5. The move follows joint inspections that found bus stops at some locations were situated far from metro stations, causing inconvenience to commuters, according to officials.

On the Purple Line, new stops have been added near Trinity and Hoodi stations. The Green Line has seen new or relocated stops near Majunathanagar, Peenya, Lalbagh, South End Circle, Jaya Prakash Nagar, Konanakunte Cross, Vajarahalli, and Thalaghattapura, with separate stops provided for different travel directions at several stations.

BMRCL officials said that at other stations, bus stops are already available within 100 m, or new ones could not be provided due to space constraints.
