The All India Democratic Youth Organisation (AIDYO), Mysuru district committee, on Friday urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to issue a government notification for the appointment of 56,432 vacant posts in various departments at the earliest.

Referring to the State government’s announcement regarding the recruitment of over 56,000 vacant posts across departments, the organisation demanded that the notification be issued without further delay.

Members of AIDYO staged a demonstration in the city, pressing for the immediate filling up of all vacant posts in government departments. They also called upon the government to take steps to fill up vacant posts totalling 2,84,881 in 43 departments across the State.

Seeking a transparent recruitment process, they demanded that entrance examinations be conducted free from irregularities. They further insisted that the application process should not involve high fees and that job aspirants must be provided free transportation to attend recruitment examinations.

The organisation also demanded that jobless youth be provided with unemployment allowance until they secure jobs, enabling them to lead a dignified life.

To address discrepancies and irregularities allegedly reported in the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC), AIDYO urged the government to implement the recommendations of the Hota Committee.

Additionally, the organisation appealed to the government to drop the KPA Magnet School plan and refrain from shutting down any government schools, stating that such institutions are vital for children from economically weaker sections.
