Sethupathy, along with his party supporters, squatted at the Taluk office here, demanding the removal of the Assistant Returning Officer S. Senthilvel, accusing him of being partisan in favour of the DMK candidate, K.K.S.S.R. Ramchandran. Tension prevailed at the Taluk office as the AIADMK complained that the ARO had failed to give the AIADMK candidate the list of postal votes meant for persons with disabilities, and senior citizens aged above 85 years. “While we were not given the list 24 hours before the beginning of the process, the DMK candidate had got it much earlier. The unsigned copy of the list of postal votes beneficiaries were found in the hands of DMK men,” complained Mr. Sethupathy.
