A decade after an underpass at Wind Tunnel Junction was announced as part of a project to make HAL Airport Road signal-free, the plan remained on paper. Now, the Bengaluru City Central Corporation (BCCC) has finally begun the process. The underpass works will be taken up in three phases: alternative arrangements for traffic moving on the stretch, groundwork and installation of magic boxes, and construction of ramps. If everything goes as planned, the corporation aims to complete the work within 100 days.
