Apollo Speciality Hospitals, Tiruchi, has launched an advanced CT perfusion scan facility and a dedicated stroke command centre, strengthening comprehensive stroke care services in the region.

The CT perfusion scan is a cutting-edge neuroimaging technology that enables early and precise stroke detection, identifies reversible and at-risk brain tissue (penumbra), and supports rapid clinical decision-making for thrombolysis and mechanical thrombectomy. This technology plays a crucial role in improving patient survival rates and long-term neurological recovery.

The stroke command centre will function as a 24/7 centralised coordination hub, integrating emergency care, radiology, neurology and interventional teams. The system is designed to ensure faster diagnosis, reduced treatment timelines and streamlined stroke management.

As part of the initiative, the hospital will organise Neuro 2.0, a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme, on Monday, focusing on recent advancements in neuroscience, stroke management, and emerging neurotechnologies, aimed at fostering academic exchange and clinical excellence.

V. Jayaraman, Unit Head and Associate Vice President, Apollo Speciality Hospitals, Tiruchi, along with senior consultants S. Fazal Ilahi, Mayilan Chinnappan, and S. Senthil Kumar, were present.
