Officials of the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted searches at the Chittoor and Nandyal Sub-Registrar offices (SROs) on Monday.

Police reportedly seized ₹1.12 lakh in cash from the document writers and staff at the Chittoor SRO office.

Meanwhile, in Nandyal, ₹16,000 in unaccounted cash and suspected PhonePe transactions were reportedly found on the mobile phones of two junior assistants in the District Registrar’s office.

Document writers were allegedly found violating the rules in both the SROs.

Based on allegations of irregularities in the two SRO offices, the Kurnool and Tirupati ACB units conducted the searches, and a detail enquiry is ongoing, the ACB officials said in a press release on Tuesday.
