Officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted searches on the properties of suspended Giddaluru in-charge Sub-Registrar N. Krishna Mohana Rao and seized movable and immovable assets on Saturday. The ACB Ongole Range officials registered a disproportionate assets case against Mr. Mohana Rao and took up investigation. Raids were conducted at Chirala town and Nanduru village of Ponnuru mandal on the assets of the accused SRO and his relatives in Guntur district. They seized three residential houses, 13 sites, 12.19 acres of agricultural land, promissory notes worth ₹9 lakh, ₹63,000 cash, 548 grams of gold, and other valuables. Investigating officers found ₹28.25 lakh bank balances, the ACB officials said in a press release. Mr. Mohana Rao, who is the senior assistant in Ammanabrolu Sub-Registrar Office (SRO), is acting as in-charge SRO of Giddaluru. He would be produced before the ACB Special Court in Nellore, the ACB sleuths said.
