Anantapur Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials seized ₹55 lakh cash, an independent house, gold ornaments weighing 221 grams, 685 grams of silver ornaments, fixed deposits for ₹24 lakh and other valuables from the house of Gudibanda Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO) in Sri Satya Sai district on Wednesday. The ACB officials caught the MRO (Tahsildar), K. Sreedhar, while he was allegedly accepting ₹20,000 bribe in return for issuing pattadhar passbook for the land of the complainant, at his office on Tuesday. Simultaneous raids were conducted in his office and properties of the MRO at Upparapalli village in Ananthapuram Rural mandal on Wednesday. The accused was produced at the ACB Special Court in Kurnool. Sreedhar was appointed as a typist in 1987, then promoted to senior assistant in 1992, and to Deputy Tahsildar in 2009. He was promoted to the role of MRO (Tahsildar) in 2023 and posted in Gudibanda mandal, the ACB officials said.
