Roads and Buildings (R&B) Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy said that the villages in the State can develop only under the NDA government. He added that the N. Chandrababu Naidu-led government is providing basic amenities in the villages. Mr. Janardhan Reddy on Sunday participated in the launch of various development programmes in Palukuru village of Banaganapalle constituency, including the inauguration of a 150 KL overhead tank constructed with ₹97.70 lakh, internal CC roads and side drains built at a cost of ₹28 lakh in BC Colony with MNREGA funds, and four other CC roads. Addressing the villagers and local party leaders, the Minister said that development works amounting to ₹4.35 crore have been undertaken in Palukuru village itself over the past 20 months, while the previous government neglected the village for the past five years. He said that the TDP government, during its stint in 2014-19, had spent ₹1.57 crore for developing the village. “The NDA government is changing the face of the villages,” he said, and added that it had successfully implemented all the ‘Super Six’ schemes. He said the government had issued notification for filling up 10,000 government jobs and had also facilitated free journey for persons with disabilities in RTC buses under ‘Divyang Shakthi’ scheme. During his visit to the village, Mr. Janardhan Reddy also unveiled the statue of former Chief Minister and founder of TDP N.T. Rama Rao. Though several leaders have joined and left the TDP, the strength of the party lies with its cadre, who have remained loyal with the party even during difficult times, he said. Earlier in the day, several leaders of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) joined the TDP in the presence of Mr. Janardhan Reddy.
