The Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) has approved investment proposals worth ₹19,391 crore from 14 companies, which are expected to generate employment for 11,753 people.

The approved projects span key sectors such as industries, tourism, food processing, energy, and renewable power. With these clearances, the total investments approved so far by the SIPB have reached ₹8.74 lakh crore, with employment potential for about 8.35 lakh people.

Chairing the 14th meeting of the SIPB  on Tuesday, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said that strong teamwork and focused governance were the main reasons behind Andhra Pradesh achieving better investment results in 2025.

He called upon the Ministers and officials to maintain the same momentum in 2026.

Revival of Andhra Pradesh’s brand image has helped attract major domestic and global companies. Firms such as Google, Tata Group, Jindal, Birla, Adani, Reliance, TCS, and Cognizant have made significant investments in the State, the Chief Minister said, and directed Ministers and officials to ensure error-free implementation of projects with accountability.

Emphasising the food processing sector, Mr. Naidu said more processing units should be set up, particularly in the Tirupati region, to ensure better returns for farmers through value addition.

He reiterated that policy implementation should be transparent and uniform, with equal opportunities for all investors.

True-up charges

Highlighting reforms in the power sector, Mr. Naidu said electricity charges had been reduced by 13 paise per unit and the government had decided to bear ₹4,500 crore in true-up charges to ease the burden on consumers.

He added that efforts were underway to reduce power purchase costs further, with a target of bringing them down to ₹3.70 per unit by 2029. These reforms, he said, played a crucial role in attracting data centres and large investments.
