The loans of over ₹3 lakh crore raised by the government do not match the requirement of the Super Six scheme, says YSRCP leader Buggana Rajendranath Reddy. | Photo Credit: File Photo The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has accused the NDA government of resorting to a counter-attack when questioned about its ‘mismanagement’ of the State’s finances. Addressing the media in Hyderabad on Saturday, former Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy alleged that the government was trying to underplay the facts raised by the YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on the State’s finances. “Though the government is trying to counter our claims, the reality is that our stand is vindicated as always,” he alleged. “We have categorically stated that the budget figures do not add up, as there is a yawning gap between the allocations and the requirement to implement the promises. We have pointed out that the loans raised by the government do not match the welfare schemes as the number of beneficiaries is being drastically reduced and the figures do not match,” he said. The loans of over ₹3 lakh crore raised do not match the requirement of the Super Six scheme. The number of beneficiaries of Thalliki Vandanam, pensions, Annadatha Sukhibhava and others has been drastically reduced, he said, adding that this was what Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy, being part of a responsible Opposition, had reminded the government. Though much was spoken about women empowerment, none of the schemes was introduced as promised during election campaign, Mr. Rajendranath Reddy said.
