Pawan Kalyan on Saturday appealed to the doctors, experts in various streams of medicine in particular, to visit tribal villages once a month. Addressing the gathering of doctors and students of Rangaraya Medical College on Saturday, Mr. Pawan Kalyan said: “There is a greater need for the presence and attention of the expert doctors in tribal pockets where the people are struggling for medical care. Every doctor needs to go to a tribal village for a day every month as a mark of social responsibility”. Mr. Pawan Kalyan said the government spends a lot of resources on imparting medical education at the government colleges. Referring to his recent visit to Araku Valley, where he noticed a prevalence of sickle cell anaemia, Mr. Pawan Kalyan said: “The tribal people need to be consulted by expert doctors on a regular basis for better medical care in their villages”. Mr. Pawan Kalyan announced that he had initiated the construction of a blood bank in the Araku Valley to help patients suffering from sickle cell anaemia. Mr. Pawan Kalyan lauded the alumni of Rangaraya Medical College for raising ₹11.10 crore for infrastructure facilities, including college administrative buildings and laboratories on the college campus. He performed the bhumi puja for the construction of the infrastructure facilities. Kakinada Rural MLA Pantham Nanaji, City MLA Vanamadi Venkateswara Rao, and former Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas were present.
