Ayyanna Patrudu asks government departments to ensure that replies to questions raised by legislators are sent on time. | Photo Credit: File Photo Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu on Tuesday asked the officials of all government departments to ensure that replies to questions raised by legislators are sent on time, warning that delays would no longer be tolerated. Chairing a meeting with Secretaries of various departments to review arrangements for the Budget session, the Speaker said instances of replies remaining pending even a month after questions were raised had been noticed and it must be avoided. The Budget Session will begin on February 11 and is likely to continue till March 12. On the opening day, Governor S. Abdul Nazeer will address the joint sitting of both the Houses at 10 a.m. Mr. Ayyanna Patrudu said efforts were underway to conduct the forthcoming Monsoon session under the National e-Vidhan framework, enabling digital conduct of proceedings. Preparatory work would commence after this Budget session. Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand said that nodal officers were appointed, replies pending to Assembly and Council questions were flagged, and departments were told to respond immediately through monitoring by a dedicated GAD portal.
