A compound wall constructed allegedly by actor Yash’s family encroaching upon private property cleared in Hassan

The compound wall that family members of cine actor Yash constructed, allegedly encroaching upon a private property at Vidya Nagar in Hassan, was demolished on Sunday (January 4, 2025), following a court order.

Lakshmamma, a resident of Mysuru, had moved the court, alleging that A. Pushpa of Vidya Nagar in Hassan constructed a compound wall encroaching upon her (Lakshmamma’s) site at the same place. Ms. Pushpa, mother of actor Yash, owns a site at Vidya Nagar. She allegedly attempted to encroach upon the adjoining site property by constructing the compound wall.

The fourth Additional Civil and Judicial Magistrate of First Class of Hassan, in April 2025, ordered the respondents not to obstruct the applicant’s peaceful possession of the property measuring 522.58 sq. mtr. in Satyamanagala gram panchayat. Now, the gram panchayat is part of Hassan City Corporation.

Devaraju, a resident of Hassan, who holds the general power of attorney (GPA) of the said property, removed the compound wall on Sunday (January 4, 2025) with the help of earth movers.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Devaraju said that he had been the GPA holder of the property since 2020. When the actor’s family members constructed the compound, he objected and also informed the local police. However, the construction was not stopped. “We moved court for clearance of the encroachment. The court heard the matter, and the respondents did not furnish documents to support their claim. After informing the respondents, we have removed the compound,” said Mr. Devaraju.

The actor’s family has a farm.
