Baghdad, Jan. 11: Prof. Langdon, conducting archaeological excavations, at Kish, announces important discoveries at the newly opened site, 16 miles north-east of Kish, the earliest Sumerian site yet found in ancient Accad. The discoveries include pictographical tablets older than anything found in Ur of the Chaldees, a large number of painted pots used by the earliest Sumerians belonging to the age of geometric pottery, and also a number of early Sumerian graves.
