PMK founder S. Ramadoss on Saturday wrote to the Election Commission (EC), urging it to take “appropriate action” and register a criminal case at the earliest against Dr. Anbumani and other party members for “unauthorised use of his party’s name for political gain”. In the letter, Dr. Ramadoss said the Delhi High Court had clarified that the EC had not declared Dr. Anbumani the PMK president and that it had no authority to do so. “No one in the country has any right to hold alliance talks with any party registered with the Election Commission. The attempt made by Anbumani [to hold talks] with the AIADMK is not only illegal but also attracts civil and criminal action for impersonation of my party and myself,” Dr. Ramadoss said.
