Narasinga Rao demanded the State government should withdraw the case filed under PD Act against Rythu Sangham leader M. Appalaraju, failing which the agitation for his release will intensify. Mr. Rao in a press release on Sunday stated that 19 false cases were registered against Appalaraju, and he was illegally detained. He called the police act of preventing Appalaraju from leaving his house by keeping a watch outside his house every day as outrageous. The CITU leaders and cadres held a protest against the government for registering the case against Appalaraju. Mr. Rao, who took part in the protest, alleged that the N. Chandrababu Naidu government imposed the PD Act on Appalaraju, who was fighting for the rights of farmers.
