The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) celebrated its Foundation Day with a ‘Standards Carnival’ organised at Sri Sairam Engineering College in the city on Friday. A press release said that about 8,000 students from various schools and colleges visited the stalls, interacted with industry representatives and BIS officials, and were enlightened about BIS certification and quality-marked products. Students also took part in several competitions on Indian Standards and Sustainable Development Goals S.K. Kanogia, Deputy Director-General (Southern Region), BIS, and Sai Prakash Leo Muthu, Chairman and CEO, Sairam Institutions, participated.
