Man held for alleged sexual harassment of woman inside cinema theatre

The police arrested a 25-year-old man for the alleged sexual harassment of a woman inside a cinema theatre in Anna Salai on Thursday night.

According to the police, the victim, an undergraduate student of Kilpauk, was outside the theatre with her uncle when an unidentified man brushed past her inappropriately. He then followed them inside.

While the film was being screened, the accused, who was seated behind them, allegedly sexually harassed the woman. When her uncle questioned him, the man allegedly verbally abused them, issued threats, and fled the scene.

Based on the complaint lodged by the woman at the Triplicane police station, the police arrested the accused, identified as Rajesh, 25, of Border Thottam in Anna Salai.
