Every year, as part of the annual Chithiral festival, thousands of devotees from far and near, not just from across Tamil Nadu, but also from other States and foreign countries, throng Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple to witness the ‘Thirukalyanam’ or the ‘Celestial Wedding of Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Sundareswarar.
