Satheesan is being backed by the IUML as the chief ministerial candidate “since he acts as the party’s spokesperson.” That, he added, emboldens Mr. Satheesan to speak against the SNDP Yogam and its general secretary. “The Congress parliamentary party should decide its Chief Minister candidate. The writing is clear when the IUML passes a premature comment on the matter,” he said.
