Veeramani stated that the BJP-led Union government, driven by the ideology of the RSS, is attempting to replace the Indian Constitution with the Manusmriti. Speaking at a public meeting on Saturday, he alleged that the RSS, which professes divisive politics based on religion and caste, has consistently sought to incite communal tension to achieve its agenda of a ‘Hindu Rashtra.’ “The BJP frequently speaks of ‘one language, one religion, and one election’ as a means to systematically integrate the RSS agenda into the nation’s governance,” he claimed. Mr. Veeramani urged the people of Tamil Nadu to reject this “toxic ideology” and instead uphold the universal Tamil principle of “Yathum Oore, Yavarum Kelir” (Everyone is equal/All are kin). He remarked that the RSS and its allies take pride in ideologies that Indian society has long condemned as anti-human and anti-democratic. “A clear example of this is the celebration of Nathuram Godse, the assassin of Mahatma Gandhi, by elements within the BJP and RSS,” he said. The DK leader warned that the confidence with which hate politics is promoted is gradually making India unliveable. However, he expressed hope that a realisation of India’s true pluralistic nature would awaken the public from their current slumber. “The divisive forces that reject equality and instead promote a society of ‘graded inequality’—as Dr. B.R. Ambedkar famously termed it—represent a dangerous ideology that we must immediately dismantle,” Mr. Veeramani concluded. To confront the BJP-RSS ideology, they must be outrightly thrown away from the State’s political atmosphere by bringing M.K. Stalin-led DMK-allies governance back with absolute majority in the upcoming elections, he appealed to the public.
