Jaishankar and his Iranian counterpart Seyed Abbas Araghchi spoke over phone on Wednesday (April 29, 2026). After the conversation, which is part of the preparation for next month’s BRICS ministerial meeting to be held in Delhi, the Iranian embassy here said that the two Ministers discussed the current Iran-U.S. ceasefire as well as “bilateral, regional and international issues”. However, Mr. Araghchi is yet to confirm his participation in the BRICS ministerial meeting.
