Minister for Water Resources Roshy Augustine has underscored the need to seriously consider seawater desalination plants to address future drinking water requirements in the State. The Minister’s remarks came at a high-level meeting convened here on Wednesday to discuss the water position in the reservoirs during the summer. The demand for drinking water is increasing every year, and Kerala may have to seriously explore options such as desalination in the near future, he said.
