Youth hacked by 60-year-old man; 4 injured in stone pelting

Tension prevailed at Kasidharmam near Kadayanallur on Wednesday after a college student was hacked due to prior enmity and consequent stone pelting between people belonging to different castes.

Police said college student Vignesh, 19, of Kasidharmam under Achanpudur police station limits and Muthupandi, 60, of the same area, who belonged to different castes, had prior enmity. Vignesh and Muthupandi had a scuffle recently, and the latter filed a complaint with Achchanpudur police, who arrested Vignesh.
