A rising number of fires linked to the burning of post-harvest paddy stubble is emerging as a serious concern in the Kuttanad region this summer. Officials with the Fire and Rescue Department say that frequent instances of stubble burning have become a growing hazard across the paddy belts of Kuttanad, which spans large areas of Kottayam, Alappuzha and Pathanamthitta districts.
