Over 100 fireworks units in Sattur and Vembakottai taluks in Virudhunagar district have remained closed since Monday. Some of the units had remained closed when a team of officials, led by Virudhunagar District Collector N.O. Sukhaputra, went for an inspection of safety measures on Saturday. The Collector had warned of stringent action against those units that did not cooperate with the officials for inspection.
