The Central University of Karnataka (CUK), Kalaburagi, has invited applications for admission to its undergraduate programmes for the academic year 2026–27 through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), Vice-Chancellor Battu Satyanarayana has said.

Addressing a press conference on the university campus on Thursday, Prof. Satyanarayana said the online application process commenced on January 3, 2026, and will remain open till January 31, 2026 (11.50 p.m.). Applications have to be submitted through the National Testing Agency’s official website.

The CUET (UG) is tentatively scheduled to be conducted from May 11 to 31 in computer-based test (CBT) mode. Candidates will be allowed to make corrections to uploaded documents from February 2 to 4 (up to 11.50 p.m.). The NTA will conduct the examination at 15 centres across Karnataka.

The V-C said that the university is offering admissions to 15 undergraduate degree programmes, with entrance tests covering 36 subjects, including 13 languages, 23 domain-specific subjects based on the NCERT syllabus, and one general aptitude test. Candidates may choose up to five subjects, including languages and the general aptitude test, irrespective of the subjects studied in Class 12 (PUC II).

Replying to a query, Prof. Satyanarayana said that the intake is around 60 seats each for B. Tech, BBA, and B.A.LLB programmes, and 40 seats each for B.A. and B.Sc programmes. Reservations will be provided for Scheduled Castes, Economically Weaker Sections, Kalyana Karnataka region quota, NCC/NSS/sports quota, Jammu and Kashmir migrants, children of defence personnel, and persons with disabilities in each programme. Students appearing for the PU examinations in 2026 are eligible to apply, he added.
