Farmers continue to face problems related to their land transactions a year after the enactment of Telangana Bhu Bharati (Record of Rights) Act, 2025. The recent suicide by farmer Madhav Rao in Gajulapahad village of Kangti mandal in Sangareddy district is indicative of the difficulties faced by farmers in securing rights over their lands. Madhav Rao reportedly took to the extreme step unable to face pressure from his family members after the ownership of the 8.25 acre land owned by the family was transferred to others through sada bainama (plain paper transaction) without their knowledge.
