Parking woes linger near Kamaraj market despite multi-level facility

Although a multi-level vehicle parking facility has been operational near Kamaraj Vegetable Market, haphazard parking of vehicles on Jeyaraj Road and the road behind the Thoothukudi Corporation continues to persist, leading to traffic congestion in the area.

The multi-level parking facility was constructed under the Smart Cities Mission, at an outlay of around ₹10 crores and was inaugurated in May 2023. This strategic development near the market was expected to reduce the traffic snarls in the area.
