NLC India Limited (NLCIL), a Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of Coal, has achieved a significant milestone in its strategic diversification and resource security initiatives with the grant of composite licence for phosphorite and limestone blocks in Balod district in Chhattisgarh. According to NLCIL, the licence was issued on April 24, 2026, by the Mineral Resources Department, Government of Chhattisgarh, enabling the company to undertake detailed geological exploration in both blocks. This development marks a key step in the company’s efforts to strengthen its presence in critical and strategic mineral resources.
