Kannada publisher and writer Asha Raghu (46) was found dead at her residence in Malleshwaram on Saturday (January 10, 2026), the police said. When there was no response from inside her room, the family members broke open the door and found her dead, the police said. She is survived by a daughter. Her husband, K.C. Raghu, had passed away two years ago. Following his death, Asha was reportedly suffering from depression, police added. After the post-mortem examination, the body was handed over to the family, Malleswaram police said. Asha Raghu was a novelist and had also worked in the television industry as a dialogue writer and assistant director. The Kannada Writers and Publishers Association expressed its condolences to the bereaved family. “Asha Raghu made significant contributions to Kannada literature through her writings and publishing. Her dedication to literature, commitment to nurturing writers, and involvement in cultural activities earned her a respected place among literary circles.
