A 27-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his father by strangulation after a drunken altercation at their home in Vandalur. The victim, Perumal, 51, a roadside vendor selling ready-made garments in Otteri Extension, is survived by his wife, his son Ajith Kumar, and a married daughter. The police said Ajith Kumar, 27, who is currently unemployed, came home in an inebriated state.
