The centenary celebrations of the Andhra University took on a vibrant dimension on Friday as hundreds of women, students, and youth participated in the “Vanitha Wave @100” walkathon along Beach Road in Visakhapatnam, reflecting the institution’s commitment to women’s empowerment. Inaugurating the event, Visakhapatnam MP Mathukumilli Sribharat commended the growing presence of women across all sectors, especially their increasing participation in leadership roles. He shared that at the Andhra University over 30% of key leadership positions were held by women, and described it as a commendable development. Mr. Sribharat expressed hope that more women would enter the workforce and rise to senior leadership positions.
