The Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) used in the Legislative Assembly elections were moved to the strong rooms at the three counting centres set up in Thanjavur district. According to official sources, the EVMs used in Thanjavur, Thiruvaiyaru, and Orathanadu were moved to the Kunthavai Naacchiyaar Government Arts College for Women in Thanjavur. The EVMs used in Thiruvidaimaruthur, Kumbakonam, and Papanasam were moved to the Government Arts College, Kumbakonam, and those from Pattukottai and Peravurani Assembly segments were moved to the Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Pattukottai.
