People are afraid to step out at night and women and daughters feel unsafe, alleged the Opposition Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday as it attacked the Delhi government over the “deteriorating” law and order situation in the city. Addressing a press conference at the AAP headquarters, party MLA Kuldeep Kumar said the city is witnessing “daily reports of murder and robbery”. “The situation has worsened to the extent that even the Delhi Assembly is receiving bomb threats. Schools and colleges, where children go to study, are receiving threats daily, yet Delhi Police has not been able to trace those responsible. The situation in Delhi has become extremely dire,” he said. Mr. Kumar pointed out that law and order in Delhi was already under the Central government, but for the past one and a half years, all levels of government in Delhi have been under the BJP. “How much more power does the BJP need?” he said. In just over a year of coming to power, “they [the BJP] have ruined Delhi and the law and order system has failed” he added.
