Amman K. Arjunan, Coimbatore South AIADMK candidate, staging a protest at the Collectorate in Coimbatore, alleging inaction by the district authorities on complaints about distribution of cash. Coimbatore South AIADMK candidate Amman K. Arjunan has alleged distribution of cash by DMK candidate for the Constituency V. Senthilbalaji and said that the police and the district election officials have not taken any action. He staged a protest at the Collectorate on Wednesday (April 22, 2026) and submitted petitions to Coimbatore district Collector Pavankumar G. Giriyappanavar and the City Police Commissioner N. Kannan alleging that 2,000 people from Karur are in Coimbatore and Mr. Senthilbalaji was indulging in poll irregularities. “Despite repeated complaints, no action is taken by the police or the district election officer,” he said. “The voters of Coimbatore south cannot vote without fear and are threatened by Mr. Senthilbalaji and those from Karur,” he claimed. Nearly 40 % of neutral voters in the constituency are not ready to cast their vote and this is “killing of the democracy,” he alleged.
