At an international conference on Recent Advances in Electrical, Electronics, Ubiquitous Communication and Computational Intelligence organised by SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), V. Veerappan, Chairman, India Electronics and Semiconductor Association and Co-founder and President, Tessolve Seconductor, underscored the urgent need for India to transition into product-driven economy.

A. Sivathanu Pillai, Sir C.V. Raman Chair Professor, SRMIST, highlighted the strategic importance of emerging technologies and said that semiconductors were critical to national growth. Paddy French, Professor, TU Delft, the Netherlands; Sunil Sharma, Scientist, SSPL, DRDO; P. Poonguzhali, Scientist F, Centre for Development of Advanced Computing, Taramani; and C. Muthamizhchelvan, Vice Chancellor, SRMIST were among those who participated.
