The Directorate of Education (DoE) has rolled out a set of precautionary guidelines for schools, including a ‘water bell’ that should ring every 45-60 minutes to remind students to drink water. The move follows a yellow alert issued in Delhi a day earlier over heatwave-like conditions.

The circular, issued on Tuesday, cited the India Meteorological Department’s warning about a rise in mercury over the coming days and directed school heads to follow the measures strictly.
