State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) Chairperson Alexander Thomas has directed the Kochi Corporation secretary to take urgent steps to cover the canal near Convent Junction. The Commission also instructed that an executive engineer be deputed for site inspection and measures be taken to resolve the complaint permanently. The Corporation secretary has been asked to inform the Commission of the action taken within three weeks. He further ordered that the executive engineer represent the Corporation secretary at the sitting scheduled at the PWD Rest House, Pathadipalam, on May 10.
