The national leadership of the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) distanced itself from its former State convener P.V. Anvar soon after his exit from the party, reportedly by leaking a letter he had written to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in November 2024. In the letter, Mr. Anvar made sweeping claims about his political influence in Kerala, which the party later found misleading. He wrote the letter after he parted ways with the CPI(M) towards the end of his tenure as Nilambur MLA and sought entry into the Trinamool through its Bengal secretary V. Sivadas, who hails from Edappal.
