Hot and humid weather conditions are likely to prevail in coastal areas on Thursday when the State goes to polls. The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) has forecast a slight rise in daytime temperatures, with mercury levels expected to be two or three degreeS Celsius above normal in interior districts on Thursday. The RMC has issued a warning of heat stress in coastal areas owing to high humidity coupled with rising mercury levels on Thursday. Residents in coastal belts, Puducherry, and Karaikal may experience uncomfortable weather till April 26.
