Bihar BJP women legislators demand public apology from Pappu Yadav over unsavoury remarks

Women BJP legislators lashed out at Purnea MP, Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, on Wednesday (April 22, 2026) and demanded that he apologise in public for his “uncharitable” comments on women in politics. The Bihar State Women Commission has taken suo motu cognisance and issued him a notice on Tuesday (April 21, 2026) warning that if he does not explain his conduct, they may demand that the Lok Sabha Speaker declare his membership null and void. He has three days to reply.

Former Minister and Jamui MLA Shreyasi Singh, while addressing the press at the party office along with other women legislators, expressed her outrage, asserting that, “This is not just one individual’s mindset, but a direct assault on the dignity of society”.
