New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) has said that it generated a cumulative 57.96 million kWh of solar energy in 10 years, from 2016-17 to 2025-26, “becoming a 100 % solar-powered port under its green port initiative.”

In its post on X on April 21, Tuesday the NMPA said that it generated 56.5 lakh kWh of solar energy during 2025-26 and reduced 4,800 tonnes of carbon emission. It saved ₹ 3.5 crores in energy costs (in electricity bills).
