A 25-year-old man was killed on the spot after a hydraulic crane rammed his motorcycle while reversing at a CMRL construction site on Arcot road on Thursday night. The police said the crane operator, Saini, 28, of Uttar Pradesh, had been detained. According to the police, the victim has been identified as S. Mukesh Kumar, 25, of Choolaimedu. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. when the crane operator reportedly reversed the vehicle without checking, hitting Mukesh’s motorcycle. He sustained severe injuries and died on the spot. The police recovered the body, and sent it to a government hospital for a post-mortem. A case has been registered and further investigation is under way.
