NAJEEB Kerala State Police Chief (SPC) Ravada Chandrasekhar has announced a special investigation team to probe the cause of the explosion at a fireworks manufacturing unit at Mundathikode in Thrissur, which claimed 13 lives and grievously injured several more on Tuesday. The police have not ruled out the possible use of banned, easily ignitable, and abrasion-sensitive chemicals, such as potassium chlorate and other compounds.
