In view of the 2026 Assembly elections to be held on Thursday, a consultative meeting on special arrangements and operation of special buses by the Transport Department was held on Tuesday at the Secretariat under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary, M. Saikumar. A total of 11,323 buses will be operated from April 21 till the afternoon of April 23, including 2,092 regular daily services from Chennai, and 6,234 special buses over the three days, said a press release.
