CPI general secretary D. Raja on Tuesday expressed confidence that the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA) would win the Tamil Nadu Assembly election as the people here do not accept the ideology of the BJP, a constituent of the AIADMK-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the State. “I can see the DMK-led coalition is ahead,” he told The Hindu, adding it reflected the popular mood. Mr. Raja characterised the RSS-BJP combine as seeking to impose “a monolithic, medieval socio-political order” on a country defined by its diversity. “The RSS-BJP combine wants to build a country as a unidimensional world — one nation, one culture; one nation, one religion; one nation, one language,” he said, extending the critique to the push for simultaneous elections.
