Former Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu called upon the older generation to motivate and encourage youngsters to honour Telugu language and culture and promote family values and rural traditions.

He visited the venue of “Sankrati Sambaralu”, being organised by BJP leader and former Member of the Rajya Sabha G.V.L. Narasimha Rao, at Andhra University Engineering College grounds. The GVL Sankranti celebrations will be held on January 13, 14 and 15, 2026.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Venkaiah Naidu called upon every Telugu family to celebrate Sankranti, the harvest festival, by observing rural traditions. Farmers, who produce food grains, should be respected, and the younger generation, which is getting attracted to western culture should be made aware of our own traditions and culture. Referring to the call given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promote “Swadeshi goods”, he called upon the people to promote use of Indian goods in every household. He commended Mr. Narasimha Rao on his initiative.

BJP Floor Leader and Member of Visakhapatnam North Assembly Constituency P. Vishnu Kumar Raju, Visakhapatnam West MLA P.G.V.R. Naidu, AU Vice Chancellor Rajasekhar, BJP Visakhapatnam district president M.M.N. Parasurama Raju and SBI DGM Rahul were also present.
